Why Capstans? Rather than using the hand-over-hand method of retrieving lines, the capstan offers a mechanical advantage that is both faster and safer. The capstan does the heavy lifting with only a small amount of effort. The maximum speed of the line retrieval depends on the rotational speed of the drum. The benefit is that the retrieval speed can be adjusted by decreasing the tension on the retrieved line, maintaining control over a very heavy load with little effort. This useful device, which has been around since the early days of sailing, is still used today. Recreational fishermen, like commercial fishermen, use these for hauling crab and lobster pots and there are many other uses aboard boats. The few mechanical parts and ease of use have made this a favorite of fisherman worldwide. While chains should NEVER be wrapped around a drum, the majority of lines can be handled on a capstan.
A capstan, typically operated by an easy to use footswitch (P7817600AJ), allows the boater to control lines with ease without having additional crew members. Powerwinch has a model to fit your needs. All Powerwinch capstans come with a foot control switch that allows for hands-free operation.

Lugs .... but more
While the review is for lugs, its actually for a lot more than that. I upgraded from AMGs to new lithium batteries. I bought these 4/0 lugs but also the 4/0 cables, fuses, cable shrink wrap and more. Basically everything I needed for the project. A huge shout out to the Yacht Rigger as being a DYI'er there were bits and pieces I needed last minute that got shipped right away and then a few items that I swapped out. They made this super easy.

Arco Zeus alternator regulator
After a lot of research, bought two of these units to go along with new Balmer XT-CR-170 alternators. Installation was a challenge but only due to having to run wires from one side of boat to the other but the support from Yacht Rigger electrical department was stellar. I had a couple of calls with Mike and he walked me through setup and configuration.

Nice product for sealing cable routes on my boat
Using this for a Starlink install. Looks to be easy to use and effective in keeping water out of the hole for the cable.
Super high quality products! Easy to install with the easy-to-follow instructions and expert guidance from The Yacht Rigger. (Be sure to turn the shore power off and unplug the cord!)
